Even though the manager has promised to be 'very active' in the transfer market (Telefoot), the rumours are more about players leaving than players joining Arsenal.

The most disturbing rumour is Samir Nasri interesting Manchester United (Sky)... The French international has been linked with a host of clubs while he's negotiating a new deal with Arsenal.

But the departing Denilson has now been joined by Nicklas Bendtner. The Mirror reported yesterday from the Danish striker's agent that Bendtner is '100 percent open to move' from Arsenal. Agent talk? Maybe, but remember that Bendtner's agent is also his Dad...

Arsenal are reportedly happy with 10 million Euros for Bendtner. For Andrei Arshavin, they can expect less. Today, the Mail is reporting that the Russian international captain will join his former club Zenit St. Petersburg in training. His bid to keep fit before Russia's next games can also lead to a transfer, it is speculated. Fenerbahce of Turkey is also reputed to be interested.

Any stars coming in, then?

Well, all the papers are still naming the usual suspects, with the exception of the Sun who links Arsenal with Sergio Canales of Real Madrid.

The manager seems to indicate that his shopping will take place early in the transfer window. He also warns the Arsenal fans not to expect any '£50m signings'.
