One of my major goals with this blog is to be able to point to the confirmations of the signings Arsenal actually make. (The other, of course, to show how much of Silly Season is empty talk, and how little is firm and reliable information.)
However, Arsenal's policy of never confirming youth transfers leaves me to adapt a new stance. Instead of being able to point to a page on arsenal.com where a transfer by a teenager is confirmed, I have to just put the block letters in place and wait for it to be mentioned.
Case in point: Kyle Ebecilio, having signed this summer from Feyenoord, and already a fixture in pre-season for Bould's U18 Arsenal team. Not even a search for his name on arsenal.com yields a single hit. And there are others...
I can understand the club's reluctance to put a 15-, 16- or 17-year-old's name in capital letters on the official homepage. However, I hope that Arsenal will at some point permit us Gooners to get information on the most recently signed promising youngsters on their website.
They rarely pass the opportunity to make the point that information is never official before it's on the arsenal.com. So inform, then!
