There really is no end to it

The very strong wording in Arsenal's statement on Cesc Fabregas seems not to have deterred Barcelona. As if we could hope for it...

Latest in the line is today's Sun story: Arsenal may have been very, very clear that Cesc is not for sale... "but for £50 million you can have him anyway," they have supposedly told the Catalans.

The source? The Catalans themselves, of course. Or "Nou Camp's top brass" as the Sun puts it.

Now, come on, we all know that Barcelona has an interest in keeping the story hot, unsettling Fabregas as much as they can, and pouncing when the chance presents itself.

But running a story like that - with only the one, anonymous source - doesn't really deserve the 'EXCLUSIVE' tag that the Sun loves to stick to their 'news' items...

[Added:] And after a while, the official retraction comes through the Press Association. So first, unofficial disrespect, then official 'respect'...
