After 117 games, Swiss defender Philippe Senderos leaves Arsenal for Fulham. The official mouthpiece arsenal.com confirms it here.
Senderos was only a teen when he signed for Arsenal in 2002. The move was touted yesterday by the Daily Mirror.
But before they celebrate too hard getting the story right, they did suggest a fee of £3million. However, Arsenal doesn't even use the term 'undisclosed fee', as they usually do. Some reports earlier have indeed suggested that Senderos' contract with Arsenal was up!
After loan spells with AC Milan and Everton, Senderos will now replace former Arsenal target Chris Smalling (who signed for Manchester United last winter) in Fulham's defence.
Senderos is the third Arsenal player to leave this Silly Season, after Fran Merida and Luke Ayling.
