The one hundredth transfer target of this Silly Season is Oleksandr Shovkovskiy, the Dinamo Kiev goalkeeper. Even if the Daily Mail concedes that there are a few targets ahead of him, this story has everything needed for a mention on this blog.

The link is not a bid, of course, nor an enquiry or even a slip of the tongue from anyone in the Arsenal management. It is instead the more vague sounding "recommendations from Gunners scouts in Eastern Europe".

Shovkovskyi is the Ukraine's third most capped player, but he didn't play against Norway this week.

Hot on the heels of this rumour, the Sun reports that Gonzalo Higuain would've been subject for an Arsenal bid - if he hadn't signed a new six-year-deal with Real Madrid, that is.

Which rumour of 100 and 101 is the most ridiculous, is hard to say.
