Covering all bases

The first day of December means that there are 31 days to go until the transfer window opens. And even if the blog entries are fewer and further between these days (I have a proper job, too, you know), the rumour page is updated continuously.

However, the rumours are almost entirely from the English media. Arsenal's global appeal throws up stories all over the world, but you can't always rely on these websites to pick them up. I'll include rumours from other countries as long as I - as always - can include a link to an established and supposedly credible media outlet.

Here's an example from my own home country: Vajebah Sakor of Division 2 team Asker in Norway is being chased by Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, according to tabloid VG. The teenager has already trained with AC Milan, and spends the winter on loan at Rosenborg to play the NextGen Series. Last year, he made his league debut for Asker in Division 1 at 15 years of age.

The teenager of African descent is a box-to-box midfielder with a physical edge to his game, and is described as "a coach's dream" because of his professional attitude at such a young age.

The Sakor story was first reported by TV2 in Norway, who report that Arsenal and others are to scout him playing for Rosenborg against Inter Milan in the NextGen Series on Tuesday. The teenager's contract expires at the end of this month, but whatever choice he makes, Asker is due compensation.
