Deadline Day brought only outgoing deals for Arsenal.
Ju-Young Park left for Celta Vigo earlier, on a season-long loan.
Nicklas Bendtner joined Juventus on loan, and the Italian champions have an option to buy at the end of the season. All bridges have been burned long ago, so the only real question is whether the Dane will avoid making himself a nuisance, so that Arsenal finally can get shot of him for good. A sad thing to say about a player brought to Highbury (!) in his youth, but that's just the way it has ended up.
The hottest rumour emerging on Deadline day itself was a loan deal for Michael Essien of Chelsea, touted by various media. The Ghana international, now down in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, joined Real Madrid instead.
The Silly Season rumour list of 2012 has been updated, but deals are yet to be confirmed here and there, and it will be properly edited this weekend.
