Being an overseas Gooner means that I rely on the wonders of the world wide web when it comes to news and rumours about all things Arsenal. The fans who actually go to the matches, however, can get their info even from the match day programme.
Finally, a piece of the programme from last weekend's Manchester City game made its way to arsenal.com. Here, Arsène Wenger confirms that he's already sounding out the market, talking to specific transfer targets. And he reiterates that business is best concluded before the World Cup muddles up the players' values.
Much of the point of this blog (for me, anyway) is to expose the extraordinary amount of [choose own synonym for droppings here] which end up reported as "news" in presumptedly serious media outlets. There's still a comfort in knowing the fact that there is, in fact, some activity on Arsenal's behalf.
And wouldn't we all love to know who Arsène has called...?
